Cittaslow has 6 basic principles:

To be recognised as a Cittaslow Supporter, you must:
Demonstrate that you already meet at least 3 of these 6 principles.
Give a commitment to support and work towards any principles that you do not already meet.

Here are some simple questions to ask yourself:
  1. Do I offer any products or services that are unique to my business?
  2. Do I increase customer choice with my range of products or services?
  3. Have I drawn on local traditions to develop my products or services?
  4. Do I support local events and community activities?
  5. Have I adopted business practices that help conserve the environment?
  6. Am I a member of any schemes that recognise good environmental practice?
  7. Do I offer customers local produce or products?
  8. Do I highlight or promote any local produce or products that I offer?
  9. Do my products or services contribute to or encourage healthy living?
  10. Do I provide any special products or services for young or old people?
  11. Do I work with any local community organisations?
  12. Can I help to promote the principles of Cittaslow?

If you can answer “YES” to at least half of these questions, you may be eligible to become a Cittaslow Diss Supporter.

What do you get in return?
